When the business has evolved and the website has not
Nicole came to us feeling her seven-year-old website no longer reflected what she actually offered.
Her practice had grown and changed. The site had stayed exactly where it started.
Industry: Counselling and therapy
Work: Copywriting, website design and development, portrait photography, video
/ theheartofhealing.com.au
The starting point: a practice that had outgrown its own website.
Seven years is a long time for a therapy practice to keep evolving quietly in the background while the website stays frozen. Nicole's work had moved on. Visitors were still meeting an older version of it.
The brief was not a redesign for its own sake. It was to work out what she had actually become, and build a site around that.
Position her as the expert, build trust, and let a little personality and energy through, without losing either.
The decisions that mattered
Voice-message discovery,
then copy and design together
Her words, shaped properly
Nicole answered a set of questions by voice message. From that, we wrote the full website copy and designed around it together, so the site reads as her, not as a template with her name on it.
Portrait photography
and video, from her own selfies
A style she already trusted
Using her own reference photos as a starting point, we created a portrait photography style and a video that feels considered and warm rather than corporate.
Nothing broke
underneath
Continuity, not just a new coat of paint
The booking system stayed connected and working, existing SEO carried over rather than resetting to zero, and we added a new blog section for ongoing content.
The result: freshly launched.
The new site launched within a few weeks of the project starting, and Nicole was genuinely excited to see it live. It is early days, so there are no results to report yet, but the foundations, booking, SEO continuity and a blog to keep building on, are in place.
